"Claude" was purchased from Brian Thwaite in Maryborough and at that time had a home made 'Turtle Neck body" that Frank discarded as unsuitable, Otherwise it was complete. An All steel Bud Body was picked up at Gayndah, and it took 12 months to repair. Most of the restoration, including the moulding of the doors the sandblasting, painting and assembling was completed while Frank and Beryl were living in Mary Kathleen. But the final completion including the hood (Bill Turner) and the upholstery (Self) was done in Gladstone. It was registered in 1983 and has since attended rallies in Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Biloela and Moura, as well as the Dysart/ Blackwater area, and naturally Gladstone and local areas. |
