THE WATERMILL DORKING |
|
... amongst others. An interesting car present was the 1924 Stoneleigh Chummy. Stoneleigh were an offshoot of Armstrong Siddeley who wanted to market a Iight car but did not want to use their name which was associated with grander vehicles. Eventually as Bristol Siddeley the company was taken over by Rolls Royce aero engines. Rolls Royce have a Stoneleigh in their collection which they are restoring and last winter this one was lent to them as a working pattern. As their project is not complete it will be returning to Derby for the winter. |

The late season Surrey Vintage Vehicle Society visit to the Watermill in Dorking was to the accompaniment of glorious sunshine which assured a good turnout of about 23 cars including a number of visitors and new members. |
