THE DOG AND DUCK AT OUTWOOD |
|
The Dog & Duck is located on Outwood Hill not far from the famous Outwood Windmill which is still in full working condition and a local tourist attraction. The Dog & Duck historically appears to be at the declining end of SVVS Members summer keenness to take their cars out for a Sunday constitutional. A few weeks earlier and its warm, and a few weeks later and its brave ! Last year we managed only six cars. Therefore it came as a pleasant surprise to note that the Dog & Duck car park was filled with 19 proper cars, making a very fine display. Two cars were new to us. One was the maiden voyage of a 1931 Sunbeam 18.2 Tourer with Dickey which has been gestating for about three years requiring lots of wood and tin. The results have been well worth it. Also unveiled was the 1981 Triumph Stag stored new by a dealer until 1997. In historical order, the SVVS cars present were: |
